An actress and drama teacher. With Artur Agostinho she presented the festival of 7 March 1974, won by “E Depois do Adeus” (And After the Goodbye): it was she who chalked up the results on the board and handed the prize to Paulo de Carvalho.

Biography

She was born in Lisbon in 1936.1 She began her career in 1954, in the Casa da Comédia Theatre Group, whose board she would later join, and worked for more than six decades in theatre, television and cinema.2

On 7 March 1974, with Artur Agostinho, she presented the 11th Grande Prémio TV da Canção (TV Song Grand Prix), live from the Maria Matos Theatre.3 During the voting, she chalked up on the board the results that Artur Agostinho announced, and it was she who handed the prize to Paulo de Carvalho, the winner with “E Depois do Adeus” (And After the Goodbye).4 On the night of 24 April, the song would be the first signal of the Armed Forces Movement, broadcast by the Emissores Associados de Lisboa.5

She taught at the Theatre School of the National Conservatoire, at the Higher School of Theatre and Cinema and at the Universidade Aberta (Open University), was a member of the High Authority for the Media and an adviser to the Secretariat of State for Culture and to the Institute of Performing Arts.2 She died in Lisbon on 11 December 2025, aged 89.21
